I heard this news from our Marketing. I was so excited to see and read the article.
The article was entitled "Lenten Picks 2012: What to Eat Where" by Spot.ph. It was published last March 21 (yes, we are kinda delayed knowing about it) at their eat + drink section. It talks about different dishes from From high - end restaurant to fast food chains as part of their marketing campaign on Lenten. Yes, we Filipinos especially during Lenten make sacrifices by not eating meat except from fish and other seafood products. Good thing lots of restaurant around the metro innovates by creative luscious and mouthwatering dishes made from seafood. (Kudos to the great chefs and the Research and Development team for making such great foods).
"Just because you made a Lenten sacrifice doesn't mean you have to
deprive yourself for 40 days. You don't need a huge hunk of barbecued
flesh on your plate to enjoy a meal; we've listed a few alternatives
that promise meatless gastronomic pleasure. What these dishes may lack
in, er, meatiness, it makes up with creativity and flavor. Just don't
enjoy yourself too much, you are "sacrificing" after all."
Two of our products were featured in this website.
Goldilocks actually launched seafood-version of Kare - kare for quite some time now. This is often sold starting mid of March or early April of the year (depends on when Ash Wednesday falls). Kare - kare as you know it is a type of stew made from peanut-based sauce with beef meat, beef tripe and variety of vegetables including eggplant, string beans, Chinese white cabbage or pechay and banana heart blossom. This is also popularly eaten with shrimp paste. For Goldilocks, you can still enjoy the signature Kare - kare sauce and vegetables with milkfish meat without the any guilt.
Savoring the sweet fish slices with the unique taste of tocino served with garlic rice and a sunny side up egg is the other product meal (ehem... my product) by Goldilocks. Tocino is commonly made from pork sliced thinly and cured and since we observe the Lenten, Bangus Tocino is another alternative dish for your all day breakfast treat.
You're the 1 Goldilocks....
